3-HO-KYNU-D3 3-Hydroxy-DL-kynurenine (5,8,8-D3)

The kynurenine pathway is a metabolic pathway leading to the production of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) from the degradation of the essential amino acid tryptophan. Kynurenine, Kynurenic acid , 3-Hydroxykynurenine, 3-Hydroxyanthranilic acid and Quinolinic acid are metabolites of the kynurenine pathway and available as deuterated standards from Buchem BV.

ASTAX-13C4 3S, 3S’-Astaxanthin (7,7’,8,8’-13C4)

Astaxanthin is found in microalgae, yeast, salmon, trout, krill, shrimp, crayfish, crustaceans, and the feathers of some birds. It provides the red color of salmon meat and the red color of cooked shellfish. Astaxanthin, unlike several carotenes and one other known carotenoid, is not converted to vitamin A (retinol) in the human body. Like other carotenoids, astaxanthin has self-limited absorption orally and such low toxicity by mouth that no toxic syndrome is known.

4-PYRA-D2 4-Pyridoxic acid (5,5’-D2)

Pyridoxal-phosphate (PLP, pyridoxal-5'-phosphate, P5P) is a prosthetic group of certain enzymes. PLP is also the active form of vitamin B6, which comprises three natural organic compounds, pyridoxal and pyridoxamine. This co-factor acts as an electron sink to stabilize carbanionic intermediates in both substitution and elimination reactions involving aminated compounds. PLP acts as a coenzyme in all transamination reactions, and in certain decarboxylation, deamination, and racemization reactions of amino acids. PLP plays a role in the conversion of levodopa into dopamine, facilitates the conversion of the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate to the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA, and allows SAM to be decarboxylated to form propylamine, which is a precursor to polyamines.

CIT1-U-13C-D3/ 10mg L-Citrulline (Ureido-13C; 3,3,4-D3)

The citrulline is an alpha-amino acid and a key intermediate in the urea cycle. Its name is derived from citrullus, the Latin word for watermelon. Several proteins contain citrulline as a result of a posttranslational. These citrulline residues are generated by a family of enzymes called peptidylarginine deiminases (PADs), which convert arginine into citrulline in a process called citrullination or deimination. Proteins that normally contain citrulline residues include myelin basic protein (MBP), filaggrin, and several histone proteins, whereas other proteins, such as fibrin and vimentin are susceptible to citrullination during cell death and tissue inflammation.
